Francois Pinault named Bruno Racine director of Palazzo Grassi - Punta della Dogana, Venice. Racine will succeed Martin Bethenod in March 2020. Bethenod has headed the Pinault collections of museums in Venice since 2010 and will move on to lead another Pinault collection site, Bourse de Commerce museum, opening in Paris this June.

Bruno Racine has extensive experience in the cultural sector, serving most recently as president of Bibliothèque Nationale de France from 2007 to 2016, and, before that, as president of Centre Georges Pompidou for five years where he organised contemporary art exhibitions. He was also director of the Académie de France in Rome, Villa Médicis, from 1997to 2002, and has written broadly on Italy.
