Setting conflicts aside, India and Pakistan will be sharing a pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale (9 May-22 November 2015), The Art Newspaper reports. In the Palazzo Benzon, Mumbai-based artist Shilpa Gupta and Lahore-based artist Rashid Rana will show alongside each other, under the title ‘My East is your West’, and curated by Natasha Ginwala.

A collateral event of the Biennale, this initiative by the Gujral Foundation will reinforce the representation of the two nations at the Biennale, which has so far been very limited (India’s first official representation was in 2011, while Pakistan’s dates back to 1956).
