Israeli artist Matan Ben-Cnaan wins BP portrait award

The first prize of the BP portrait award has been given to Israeli artist Matan Ben-Cnaan for his portrait Annabelle and Guy, depicting one of his friends with his stepdaughter in an allegorical representation of the Biblical story of Jephthah.

Ben-Cnaan was presented with £30,000 plus a £5,000 commission.

The BP Portrait Award 2015 exhibition will be on show at the National Portrait Gallery 18 June – 20 September.
