Gabi Ngcobo to curate 2018 Berlin Biennale

The Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art has announced Gabi Ngcobo as the curator for its 10th edition in 2018, succeeding to the DIS Magazine collective who directed this year’s edition (read our review here).

Ngcobo is a South African curator, who most recently co-curated the 32nd Bienal de São Paulo. She previously worked as assistant curator at the South African National Gallery in Cape Town, and head researcher at the Cape Africa Platform, where she curated the 2007 Cape07 Biennale. Ngcobo is also a founding member of the Johannesburg based collaborative platforms NGO – Nothing Gets Organised and Center for Historical Reenactments (2010–14).
