Philippe Parreno will undertake this year’s commission for Tate Modern's Turbine Hall. This is the second commission of a new series for the vast gallery space since a change of sponsor from Unilever to car maker Hyundi. Here's what Tate say about Parreno: 'a key artist of his generation, Parreno explores the borders between reality and fiction and is known for investigating and redefining the gallery-going experience.' You can read what he says about himself here. The new work will be unveiled 4 October.

The weeds in Abraham Cruzvillegas's current Turbine Hall commission, a canopy of raised planters of found earth, are coming along nicely ArtReview noted this week. Empty Lot will be on view to 3 April. You can read what we say about Cruzvillegas's work here.
