M+, the long awaited new museum currently under construction in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, has announced the first three exhibitions at the new M+ Pavilion, the home of the institution until the opening of the permanent building in 2019. Running from September 2016 to May 2017, the museum will host Nothing, a solo exhibition by Hong Kong artist Tsang Kin-Wah, a new commission following the artist's solo exhibition representing Hong Kong at the 2015 Venice Biennale (9 September – 6 November); Shifting Objectives: Design from the M+ Collection, a display of over 100 objects looking at the histories of twentieth and twenty-first century design from a multiplicity of Asian perspectives (25 November 2016 – 5 February 2017); and an exhibition exploring female identity and representation through popular culture in Hong Kong since the 1980s (24 February – 7 May 2017).
