Win for Steve McQueen at 2014 Oscars

Artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen has received the Oscar for Best Picture for 12 Years a Slave, making him the first person to win both the Turner Prize and an Oscar

The Oscar for Best Picture went to Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, a second victory after winning Best Film at the 2014 BAFTAs.

The movie also took two more Oscars: Best Adapted Screenplay for its writer John Ridley and, Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyongo.
