following recent dismissal of Anne Baldassari, after nine years in the post

Laurent Le Bon, who currently heads the Centre Pompidou-Metz, has been named as president of Musée Picasso by the French Culture Ministry, The New York Times, reports. Mr. Le Bon, 45, oversaw the opening of the Centre Pompidou-Metz in 2010.

The Musée Picasso, which holds the worlds’ largest collection of Picasso's work, including about 300 paintings and 300 sculptures, has been closed during a delayed and over-budget expansion project for nearly five years. Its current scheduled opening date is September 2014.
