The Lahore Biennale Foundation has revealed its list of participating artists for the second edition of the Lahore Biennale (LB02). Over 70 artists have been invited to present work at the biennale which this year is curated by Hoor Al Qasimi, director of the Sharjah Art Foundation. Titled between the sun and the moon, LB02 will be located across cultural and heritage sites in Lahore, with a focus on how the Global South is being affected by climate change. A press release from the foundation explains: ‘LB02 will explore human entanglement with the environment while revisiting traditional understandings of the self and their cosmological underpinnings. Inspiration for this thematic focus is drawn from intellectual and cultural exchange between South and West Asia.’ The artist list includes participants such as Alia Farid, Anwar Saeed, Haroon Mirza, Hajra Waheed, Simone Fattal, Rayyane Tabet, Nalini Malani, John Akomfrah and Kader Attia. The biennale will run from 26 January – 29 February 2020.
