Staged as a series of intimate conversations and more, set in a relaxed and casual bar, the series will allow audiences an insight into the inspirations, working methods and passions of some of today’s key visionaries from artists and thinkers, to filmmakers, designers, philosophers and architects. The events will span creative thinking and how it evolves to match our times. The series is a celebration of traditional conviviality, to be experienced live by those present rather than remotely, on screen. The talk will take place in the restaurant, where food and drink can be ordered throughout the evening.
\n\n\n\n
Time: 6.15pm welcome drink, 7pm event start
\n\n\n\n
Ticketed event: £14, which includes a welcome drink and copies of ArtReview and Ursula magazine
\n\n\n\n

\n
Previous events:
9 June: Jayden Ali and Simone Brewster
14 April: Hammad Nasar and Billy Tang
3 March: Ming Wong and Mark Rappolt
4 November: Cooking Sections and Louisa Buck
7 October: Do Ho Suh and Sook-Kyung Lee
2 September: Bex Wade and Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley
1 July: Thomas J. He has had many solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Europe, United States and South America. Peake collaborates with his daughters, Clover Peake and Tabitha Powles, to manage the Phyllida Barlow Estate.
\n\n\n\n
About Tabitha Powles
Tabitha Powles is a former nurse with over 25 years’ experience. The result is a body of work grounded in observation and lived experience.
\n\n\n\n
Alongside her sister and father, Powles now manages the Phyllida Barlow Estate, a role the three of them stepped into following her mother’s death in 2023. She now brings the same practical focus to the Estate that shaped her nursing and artistic career.
\n\n\n\n
About Clover Peake
Clover Peake is a poet and artist from London, UK who studied Classical History and Ancient Languages. Peake’s work spans poetry, short stories and solo collections. Her work has also appeared in several anthologies. Peake is currently editing her latest collection, which reflects on mourning and the natural world. Through the interplay of text, textiles and visual work, Peake takes notice of the hidden, considering how language and repetitive processes, such as stitching, can serve as conduits between the inner and outer worlds.
\n\n\n\n
Along with her sister and father, Peake manages the Phyllida Barlow Estate.
\n\n\n\n

\n","path":"/a-conversation-about-phyllida-barlow-with-her-family-and-simon-oldfield-clare-lilley-off-the-record/","format":"standard","date":"02 July 2026","rawDate":"2026-07-02T15:22:12.000Z","branch":{"name":"artreview.com"},"author":{"name":"ArtReview","path":"/author/artreview/"},"category":{"name":"Live Events","path":"/category/live-events/"},"featured_media":{"source_url":"https://backend.artreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/2026_Ursula-ArtReview-OTR_June-2026_BW.png","caption":"","alt_text":"","media_details":{"width":1500,"height":1000,"sizes":{"thumbnail":{"source_url":"https://backend.artreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/2026_Ursula-ArtReview-OTR_June-2026_BW-300x200.png","width":300,"height":200},"medium":{"source_url":"https://backend.artreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/2026_Ursula-ArtReview-OTR_June-2026_BW-600x400.png","width":600,"height":400},"large":{"source_url":"https://backend.artreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/2026_Ursula-ArtReview-OTR_June-2026_BW-1230x820.png","width":1230,"height":820},"wordpress_1536x1536":null,"wordpress_2048x2048":null}}},"acf":{"article_artist":null,"article_video":null,"article_audio":null,"article_collaboration":"","article_custom_html_snippet":"","article_featured_title":"","article_featured_description":"","article_highlight":false,"article_custom_link_url":"","hero_image":null,"seo_title":"Event: a conversation about Phyllida Barlow with her family and curators Simon Oldfield and Clare Lilley, Off the Record","seo_description":"ArtReview and Ursula magazine have teamed up to host a series of monthly talks in the Wine Bar underneath the Farm Shop in London’s Mayfair.
