Photo: Christina Ebenezer</figcaption></figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Elvira Dyangani Ose has been appointed artistic director of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), Cape Town. She will start the role on 1 October, succeeding Koyo Kouoh, who was the institution’s director and chief curator from 2019 until her death in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https://artreview.com/koyo-kouoh-pan-african-curator-and-director-of-mocaa-1967-2025/\" target=\"_blank\">2025</a>. </p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dyangani Ose is currently artistic director of the 2026–27 Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial. She <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https://artreview.com/director-of-macba-steps-down-early/\" target=\"_blank\">recently stepped down</a> from her role as director of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https://artreview.com/elvira-dyangani-ose-to-head-up-macba/\" target=\"_blank\">MACBA</a>, Barcelona, apparently due to incompatibilities between that position and her role as artistic director for the upcoming Abu Dhabi biennial.
