Zanele Muholi is an artist and photographer based in South Africa. For over a decade, she has been exploring issues of gender, race and queerness in her home country, documenting LGBTQ communities through series of portraits. Presenting herself as a visual activist, Muholi explains how she's been using photography, as well as the online platform Inkanyiso she created, as a way to give a voice to these individuals and fight against homophobia, discrimination and violence.
