
Kochi-Muziris Biennale has announced its list of artists for its sixth edition, titled For The Time Being and slated to open from 12 December to 31 March across the historic port city of Kochi.
Curated by Nikhil Chopra and HH Art Spaces, Goa, the exhibition will feature 66 artists and collectives from over 20 countries. 50 new commissions will be presented across public spaces and heritage sites in the neighbourhoods throughout the city. Confirmed venues include Aspinwall House, historic headquarter of Aspinwall & Company Ltd; Pepper House, a former spice warehouse turned cultural centre; and Durbar Hall, once the courthouse of the Maharaja of Kochi, amongst others.
‘Our invitation to companions was to work with Kochi’s climates, conditions and resource realities’, the curatorial team says in a statement, ‘to make time, think nimbly, and collaborate locally.’
