Digital Editor, ArtReview & ArtReview Asia

The ArtReview website features a mix of art news, articles from recent and current issues of ArtReview and ArtReview Asia magazines, exclusive web-only content, artist projects, highlights from 70 years of issues from the ArtReview archive, and multimedia content from around the web. The website also contains the latest Power 100 microsite, charting ArtReview's annual ranked list of the contemporary artworld's most powerful players, from its initiation in 2002, to the current year.

Working with both the editorial and commercial teams, you will be responsible for developing, directing and implementing the strategic direction of artreview.com as well as the brand’s other social and digital platforms. You will ensure its effective delivery while growing traffic and engagement. Innovation lies at the heart of the role, which will range from commissioning and producing content, to enhancing and developing user experience.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop revenue-generating digital strategy across all platforms
  • Ensure that strategy is aligned with ArtReview and ArtReview Asia’s brands, objectives and plans
  • Manage social media as part of wider digital strategy, ensuring regular posts and coordinating coverage
  • Work with the team and ArtReview’s stakeholders to develop the company’s digital marketing strategies
  • Upskill editorial team in digital content production
  • Develop new online publishing platforms that can accommodate a variety of media and a multiplicity of views
  • Work with in-house and external writers and other content producers to ensure publication of website content on deadline and within budget
  • Maintain web archive and manage upload of content using in-house CMS
  • Meet targets for engagement, traffic, conversion and time-on-page, and work with the wider editorial team to meet them
  • Meet weekly content targets as agreed with senior management team: covering social-media posts, online-exclusive content, etc
  • Produce weekly digital progress reports 

Skills and qualifications: 

  • A background in digital publishing and marketing, preferably with several years’ experience running digital platforms and related social media
  • A demonstrable interest in contemporary art
  • Experience in reading analytics and building data-driven, commercially astute digital strategies
  • Good organisational skills, ability to delegate tasks effectively
  • Excellent written English

Location: London, UK

Requirement: full time / five days per week

Salary: £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience
