Alexia Fabre to curate 17th Biennale de Lyon

The Biennale de Lyon has invited Alexia Fabre to curate its 17th edition, which is scheduled to run from September 2024 to January 2025.

Alexia Fabre is the director of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, the first woman to hold the position in the institution’s 400-year history. Previously she headed MAC VAL, the contemporary art museum of the Department of Val-de-Marne in Vitry-sur-Seine, from 2005 to 2022. In 2019, she co-curated the exhibition Lune, du voyage réel aux voyages imaginaires at the Grand Palais, Paris and was a guest curator of Manif d’Art – La Biennale de Québec in 2017. She was also joint artistic director of Nuit Blanche Paris.
