Robert Gober

Artist

Robert Gober is on hiatus… from exhibiting, that is. After his widely acclaimed retrospective at the Schaulager last year, the artist announced that only in 2012 would we see any new work. Never fear – a laundry list of top institutions has the artist’s previous endeavours on view: the Menil Collection (in the just-closed NeoHooDoo: Art for a Forgotten Faith); MoMA (in Wunderkammer: A Century of Curiosities); the Walker Art Center (The Shape of Time, a three-year exhibition that closes this month); and soon the Hirshhorn (Strange Bodies, which opens next month).
