
Clément Delépine, who has headed Art Basel’s Paris fair since its inception in 2022, will leave after the fourth edition in October. Delépine, an art fair veteran, has been appointed director of Lafayette Anticipations, the arts foundation of the Galeries Lafayette department store chain.
Previously Delépine was co-director of Paris Internationale, the smaller independent art fair from 2016 through 2021. Before that the Frenchman held roles at the Swiss Institute and Bortolami Gallery, both in New York.
Since 2018 Lafayette Anticipations has been headquartered in a former industrial building in the Marais district in Paris. Galeries Lafayette group has been a sponsor of Art Basel Paris in previous years.
Delépine takes over from Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel.
