Aimee Harrison and Lucía Sanromán will co-curate the 14th edition of the Liverpool Biennial, which will take place from 5 June through 12 September 2027.

Aimee Harrison is a curator and producer from Liverpool. She was previously learning coordinator at FACT Liverpool and children and young people’s producer at Heart of Glass, St Helens. Since 2019, she has been curator of learning at the Liverpool Biennial. She has extensive experience in producing community projects with children and young people, as well as with older adults, migrant communities and people within the justice system.

Lucía Sanromán is chief curator at the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City. She was previously director at Laboratorio de Arte Alameda in Mexico City and director of visual arts at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Throughout her career, she has curated many exhibitions foregrounding socially engaged, feminist and indigenous practices.

‘This model of co-curation provides opportunity for reciprocal learning, combining an authentic and committed understanding of Liverpool with an international perspective,’ Samantha Lackey, director of the Liverpool Biennial, said in a statement.

Participating artists are set to be announced later this year.
