Glasgow International is collaborating with ArtReview to introduce the role of Writer in Residence, specifically to support Black, Indigenous and People of Colour writers to develop their work and to bring fresh perspectives and insights on the festival to our attention. This is part of Glasgow International’s commitment to anti-racism.
The new Writer in Residence will attend and cover the Festival in June this year over a 3-day period in the first week of the festival, which runs 11 – 27 June.
There is a stipend of £1000 with the position which includes travel expenses if required. The selected writer will be supported with access to exhibitions and the artists, through time with an editor at ArtReview and through time with the team at Glasgow International.
The resulting article will be published on ArtReview’s platforms and shared through Glasgow International’s channels.
Those interested in applying should write a short cover note and include an example of a review they have written by 28 May 2021. Applications should be sent to info@glasgowinternational.org with Writer in Residence in the subject line, and will be reviewed by the editor at ArtReview and the curatorial team at Glasgow International. The chosen writer will be announced on Tuesday 8 June.
