Junior Accountant, ArtReview

It is dedicated to expanding the reach of contemporary art and exploring its interaction with broader culture. Aimed at both specialist and general audiences, ArtReview and its sister publications—ArtReview Asia (launched in 2013) and a quarterly Chinese edition (launched in 2022)—offer a mix of critical writing, reviews, analysis, artist projects, guides, and supplements.
In addition ArtReview curates live events and programmes for nonprofit institutions, art fairs and major art festivals. It also offers high-quality content and creative solutions to select global brand partners, including bespoke events, contract publishing of books and supplements, high-spec video and podcast content, and much more.
ArtReview Ltd is part of Meta Media, China’s leading independent media group, whose portfolio includes The Art Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, LEAP, Modern Weekly, Nowness, and Numéro. We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented full-time Junior Accountant to join our London-based team. This role reports directly to the Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare customer invoices based on accounting procedures and Manage an Accounts Receivable ledger and Accounts Receivable files
- Submit daily reports to management on accounts receivable operations
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
- Assist tasks for audit and liaison with auditors in conjunction with the FC
- Review and reconcile bank and other balance sheet
- Produce VAT return, compliance on VAT
- Post Payroll Journal Entries to Sage
- Prepare and submit Pension contributions
- Responsible for office asset management and calculations
- Responsible for month end closing process
- Responsible for bookkeeping on Sage
- Update and improve control system such as Customer Invoice Sheet, Commissions Sheet and etc
- Deal with queries from clients and suppliers, Staff and FC Ad hoc tasks
Candidate Requirements:
- Proactive and hands-on approach to financial tasks
- Strong and clear communicator
- Part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese (preferred)
- Experience using Sage accounting software
Location: London office, EC1
Requirement: Five days per week
Salary: Depending on experience
