Raphael Hefti has won the Prix Mobilière, Bieler Tagblatt reports. The prize was founded in 1996 and for the first time this year was presented during the Artgenève art fair. Hefti won from a shortlist that included Nicolas Cilins, Bernhard Hegglin, Sophie Hofer and Mariann Oppliger, Thomas Julier, Nicolas Party and Hannah Weinberger. Hefti currently has a solo exhibition at the Centre of Contemporary Art in Geneva.
Correction: An earlier news story on ArtReview’s website wrongly stated that Nicolas Party had won the prize, incorrectly citing a newsletter on the artist’s nomination from Party’s gallery The Modern Institute. Apologies to Party, the gallery and Hefti.
