Seoul-born artist Anicka Yi has been awarded the 2016 Hugo Boss Prize, The Telegraph reports. Yi, now based in New York and whose installations often feature fragrance as the predominant medium, is the 11th recipient of the prize and will receive $100,000 (£81,883) alongside a solo exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. A statement from the jury reads: ‘We are particularly compelled by the way Yi’s sculptures and installations make public and strange, and thus newly addressable, our deeply subjective corporeal realities.’ Yi’s show is scheduled to open in April 2017.
