Daria Martin has been announced as the winner of the 2018 Film London Jarman Award, presented in association with Channel 4, the Whitechapel Gallery and Genesis Cinema. Now in its 11th year, the £10,000-prize was founded by Film London in memory of late filmmaker Derek Jarman, to support UK-based artists working with moving image.
Daria Martin was selected among a shortlist of artists featuring Larry Achiampong & David Blandy, Jasmina Cibic, Lawrence Lek, Hardeep Pandhal and Margaret Salmon. In a statement, Film London chief executive Adrian Wootton congratulated Martin for ‘an eclectic and expansive body of work that has explored everything from dreams and mythology to technology and feminism’.
