Collectors and philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad’s new museum, The Broad, has announced an opening date of 20 September, with a preview day on 15 February which will feature two temporary audio and visual works under the title Sky-lit: Volume, Light and Sound at the Broad, The La Times reports. The works, on show in the unfinished museum’s third floor gallery include an audio installation by Swedish composer and sound artist BJ Nilsen and a work in sound and light by Los Angeles artist Yann Novak.
When the museum opens in September entrance to the permanent collection will be free, although some future special exhibitions will carry a charge.
