Following his appointment as Tai Kwun’s ‘head of art’ in January, Philip Tinari has been named director of Tai Kwun Arts.
Tinari was previously director and CEO of UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, headquartered in Beijing. During his tenure Tinari oversaw the opening of three UCCA outposts in Shanghai, Beidaihe and Yixing, and more than 150 exhibitions across its locations.
Tinari will take over from former longtime director Timothy Calnin, who will now oversee the institution’s special projects. Chin Chin Teoh will be managing director of Tai Kwun.
