ArtReview is pleased to support the Cardiff-based Artes Mundi 6 Exhibition and Prize as their official media partner.
For its sixth edition, nine artists have been shortlisted from 800 nominations by Washington-based independent curator Adam Budak, and Sabine Schaschl, Director and Curator of Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich.
The artists are Carlos Bunga, Omer Fast, Theaster Gates, Sanja Ivekovic, Ragnar Kjartansson, Sharon Lockhart, Renata Lucas, Renzo Martens and Karen Mirza & Brad Butler.
Their work will be presented across three different venues in Cardiff, the National Museum Cardiff – the exhibition’s regular venue –and also at Chapter Arts Centre and ffotogallery.
On 22 January 2015, the winner of the Artes Mundi 6 will be awarded £40,000, the UK’s largest monetary art prize.
A programme of performance, music, site-specific installations, film, lectures and seminars based around the exhibition and prize, will be running across the city during the time of the exhibition. Look out for ArtReview Live events in collaboration with Artes Mundi 6 coming up in November and January.
