MOMENTA Biennale d’art contemporain, Montreal, has appointed Toleen Touq as curator of its 20th edition, set to take place in 2027. The exhibition, titled The Long Now, will interrogate the notion of time, questioning the temporal logic of the present and inviting duration as a means of keeping time open and unresolved.
Touq is a curator and educator based between Amman and Toronto. Since 2014, she has been the cofounding director of the experiential arts residency and collective study programme Spring Sessions, usually based in Amman. From 2018 to 2022 she served as artistic director of SAVAC, an artist-run centre in Toronto. Her recent projects include the performance, film and music programme Palestine All The Time at Gallery TPW, Toronto (2025); listening sessions Notations for Living at Darat Al-Funun, Amman (2025); the Greater Toronto Arts triennial, Toronto (2024) and film programming at Images Festival, Toronto (2024).
