LA MOCA restructures; Biesenbach in new role

The museum’s current director will take on the position of artistic director

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles has announced that director Klaus Biesenbach will take on the new role of artistic director, focusing on curatorial initiatives. The museum is restructuring to include a new executive director, who has not yet been named.

Biesenbach and the executive director will head up the museum, reporting to the MOCA board, the LA Times’s Deborah Vankin reports.

A letter to MOCA staffers clarified that Biesenbach’s new role will be focused on ‘increasing the museum’s cultural visibility and artist relations, while at the same time growing the museum’s international profile and partnerships.’
