Lise Pennington will be the new director of Galleri F 15 in Moss, Norway and the MOMENTUM biennale, stepping in after Dag Aak Sveinar’s 16-year tenure. An art historian and curator, Pennington has until now served as the Chief Curator and Interim Director of the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum. Her role at the AroS has seen the construction of an underground gallery space as well as a major permanent James Turrell installation. Her extensive curatorial collaboration includes the solo exhibitions of Isaac Julien, Do Ho Suh, Grayson Perry and Joana Vasconcelos, among others. Pennington will take up the position in September.
With a history over 60 years, Galleri F 15 also hosts the MOMENTUM biennale. ‘I am very much looking forward to further developing the MOMENTUM biennale and Galleri F 15. MOMENTUM has long had the status of the most important biennale in the Nordics with great professional weight – and Galleri F 15 is a real gem. I see enormous potential in both MOMENTUM and Galleri F 15, the 19th-century manor house set in a historic landscape just outside Moss’, Pennington said in a statement.
