Ai Weiwei stars in secret Sci-Fi short

Artist Ai Weiwei has starred in a short sci-fi film called ‘The Sand Storm’, according to the Kickstarter campaign set up by the film’s writer and director, and ‘Ted Talks’ filmmaker, Jason Wishnow.  Wishnow is asking for money for post-production costs for the film, which was shot in secret, in Beijing, due to Ai’s dissident status, and in which the artist plays a smuggler, in a world without water.
