Researchers at Queen Mary University are claiming they have unmasked the street artist Banksy using software normally used to map crime locations and infectious diseases. The Bristol Post has reported that the team studied the spatial pattern of Banksy’s artworks in Bristol and London in order to map his possible locations. The results of the study, analysing the locations of artworks against areas in which he has lived in or frequented, make it highly likely that Banksy’s identity is Robin Gunningham. The research has been published in the Journal of Spatial Science.
