The not-for-profit Drawing Room’s fundraising exhibition and auction, Drawing Biennial, returns for its latest edition, featuring over 200 works on paper by a wide range of artists, established and lesser known, selected by Drawing Room directors Mary Doyle, Kate Macfarlane and Katharine Stout, with additional nominations from a panel of international artists, museum directors, curators and collectors.
Each artist is invited to create and donate one original drawing on an A4 sheet of paper, in any medium, to be exhibited at the gallery and sold through silent auction through the website during the last weeks of the show. With a starting price of £250 for each drawing, all the profit made from the sales will help support Drawing Room’s programme over the next two years.
The long list of participating artists includes Anish Kapoor, Mateo López, Tracey Emin, Martin Creed, Analia Saban, Laure Prouvost, Corneila Parker, Thomas Hirschhorn, Susan Hefuna, Joseph Kosuth, Caroline Achaintre, Caragh Thuring, Julie Verhoeven and Samara Scott.
The Drawing Biennial online auction is now live through 30 April.
