Shabbir Hussain Mustafa has been appointed artistic director of Aichi Triennale 2028, the triennale’s organising committee has announced.
Shabbir Hussain is currently chief curator of Singapore Art Museum. Prior to this, he held curatorial roles at the National University of Singapore Museum, the National Gallery Singapore and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. He curated the Singapore Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2015 and co-curated the Dhaka Art Summit in 2018.
He is currently part of the curatorial team for the forthcoming quadrennial Rubaiya Qatar, in 2026.
