Shortlist announced for the 2024 Prix Marcel Duchamp

The shortlist for this year’s Prix Marcel Duchamp is:
Abdelkader Benchamma (born 1975 in Mazamet, France. Lives and works in Paris and Montpellier)
Gaëlle Choisne (born 1985 in Cherbourg, France. Lives and works in Paris and Berlin)
Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain (born 1974 and 1973 in Brazil. Live and work in Paris)
Noémie Goudal (born 1984 in Paris. Lives and works in Paris)


Given by by the Association for the International Diffusion of French Art (ADIAF) to recognise contemporary art production in France, the Prix Marcel Duchamp is the most prestigious contemporary art prize in France. It is awarded yearly to an artist who is either French or living in the country. The Prix Marcel Duchamp follows a group exhibition of the nominated artists at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, which will open on 1 October 2024. The prize disburses 90,000 euros, of which 35,000 euros are given to the winner and the rest is distributed between the finalists. The last year’s winner was Tarik Kiswanson. Previous winners included Kader Attia, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Melik Ohanian. This year’s other nominated artists were Bertille Bak, Bouchra Khalili and Massinissa Selmani. The winner of the 2024 edition will be announced on 14 October 2024 at a ceremony at the Centre Pompidou.
