Join painter Luc Tuymans and sculptor Mark Manders for an intimate and revealing discussion about their latest works and the connections and differences between their respective approaches to artmaking. Filmed in Tuymans’s latest exhibition, Seconds, at Zeno X Gallery in Antwerp and in Mark Manders’s studio in Ronse (where he’s preparing for an exhibition of new work for a show at the gallery scheduled for early 2022), the discussion, between the two friends and longtime admirers of each others’ work, offers an intimate peek behind the scenes of exhibition-making and into the thoughts and motivations that go towards the creation of both an individual work of art and its presentation in public. And a look at the ways in which one artist can inspire another.
