The American’s works come in various degrees of finish, from standard and textured prints, to prints hand-highlighted by a team of ‘master craftsmen’, to 100 percent original Kinkades. And while Kinkade’s religious inspiration may make him seem distanced from a traditional artist-as-bad-boy image, he’s not averse to a bit of ‘ritual territory marking’ (including, allegedly, urinating over Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland).
