Artist (and 2017 Future Greats) Katie Schwab and curator Rosanna Mclaughlin have invited female writers, artists, musicians and designers to participate in a multidisciplinary evening inspired by the traditional collective form of the textile sampler. Drawing on the idea of the sampler as a vessel for shapes, colours and letters to be appropriated and passed on through generations, this gathering will explore how quotation, repetition and adaptation can be used to acknowledge one’s influences, and to connect with female voices, past and present.
