In a busy year for the artworld, we’re preparing for another edition of Zurich Art Weekend – a summery celebration of the city’s epicentres of cultural creativity, stretching from museum and galleries to alternative spaces. The three-day event offers a deep dive into a very special scene with more than 200 events taking place around the city, attended by leading artworld professionals as well as newcomers to contemporary art.

For more than two centuries, Mirabaud has developed a deep commitment to sustainability alongside a keen interest in the arts. Leveraging its expertise in the financial world, it looks to offer support beyond just collections and commissioning artists, through meaningful empowerment of the art ecosystem as a whole, championing institutions that can help bring art to a wider public. Doing so is part of Mirabaud’s mission to offer distinctive and challenging ideas and perspectives for its clients: to look at the world with fresh eyes.

Meanwhile Zurich Art Weekend, since its launch in 2018, has adopted a format that fosters a sense of exchange between artists and audiences, with the aim of creating productive energies and meaningful experiences within and beyond the city’s artworld. For this fifth edition (10–12 June), it seeks to transform the city into a space for new discoveries and encounters, structured around its principles of championing democratic access to the arts and seeking to connect on local, national and international levels.

The diverse programme includes special Art Walks guided by curatorial professionals which allow visitors to experience the city from the perspective of an artworld insider; and don’t miss a cross-disciplinary talks programme that tackles NFTs, AI, blockchain, ecology and their relation to artmaking. Other events include visits to studios and production sites.

The Weekend will see a special collaboration with the AI Center of ETH Zurich for an ‘ENTER THE META’ dinner and party, alongside a day-long programme in which scientist and artists will be invited to meet and exchange ideas.

ArtReview will once again be partnering with Mirabaud and Zurich Art Weekend for an Instagram takeover; this time, ZAW artists will take over ArtReview’s Instagram account for a whole weekend. Expect intriguing and unusual insights into what makes this city’s artworld tick – from the artists right at the centre of the action. This exciting takeover is coming the weekend of 7-8 May: save the date!
