Mexican-born curator Pablo León de la Barra has been named as the new director of Rio de Janerio’s Casa França Brasil cultural centre, Folha de S.Paulo reports. León de la Barra who has been based in New York on a two year residency as the UBS MAP Curator, Latin America, at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, will take up the post in January 2015. He replaces Evangelina Seiler, who left earlier this year. Macio Botner, the artist and founder of Rio gallery A Gentil Carioca, was named president of the organisation in May this year.
