Serra Yentürk to direct Turkey’s SAHA

Serra Yentürk will be the new director of SAHA, a non-profit organisation founded in 2011 to support artists, curators and arts writers working in Turkey and foster international dialogues. Since last February Yentürk had served as the organisation’s Interim-Director, following the departure of Çelenk Bafra. 

Yentürk’s appointment was the unanimous decision of a search committee, consisting of with Aslı Meral Atay, Berna Tuğlular, Felekşan Onar, Saruhan Doğan, Füsun Eczacıbaşı and lead by Haro Cümbüşyan, wro reviewed applications from an open call.

Joining the organisation from 2022, Yentürk served as SAHA’s Studio Coordinator and managed the organisation’s collaboration with international residency programmes. In 2021 she was the editor of Borusan Contemporary, prior to which she was an independent curator and editor based in Paris from 2016. From 2012 to 2016, she worked at Galeri Nev Istanbul, where she mounted the exhibition Robert Mapplethorpe: 1979-1989 in 2016.
