Three women have accused the architect David Adjaye of sexual assault and sexual harassment as well as creating ‘a toxic work culture’. In response to a lengthy investigation by the Financial Times, the architect told the newspaper: ‘I absolutely reject any claims of sexual misconduct, abuse or criminal wrongdoing’.

All three women either worked for or were contracted to Adjaye Associates, whose projects include the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, the UK’s new Holocaust memorial, a museum of west African art in Benin City and Ghana’s national cathedral in Accra, where the firm has an office and where some of the alleged behaviour may have taken place.

One alleged victim told the FT: ‘I felt so worthless, like dirt, like nothing’.
