Liz Diller, of Diller Scofidio & Renfro architects, has outlined the reasons behind the decision to demolish New York’s former Folk Art Museum (as part of expansion plans, by MoMA, who now own the building) at a public discussion at the New York Society for Ethical Culture, The New York Times reports.
At a panel discussion Ms Diller explained that every effort had been made to find a way to adapt, rather than demolish, the building in order to work with MoMA’s redevelopment plans, but that the difficulties had been insurmountable.
