Gladstone Gallery, which currently holds spaces in New York and Brussels alongside an office in LA, is to open a new space in Seoul’s Gangnam district. The new location will be headed up by HeeJin Park.

‘We are very happy to share the news that Gladstone will officially begin to expand its physical footprint to Asia,’ founder Barbara Gladstone said. ‘We have a long history of artists showing at some of Korea’s most prestigious institutions, including a significant exhibition for Matthew Barney at the Leeum in 2005, and many more.’

The move comes amidst a flurry of activity in the city with Thaddaeus Ropac scheduled to open next month and Frieze’s plans for its first Asian fair slated for next year – the latter will be run in partnership with the Galleries Association of Korea.
