Inaugural India Art Fair Contemporary cancelled

India Art Fair Contemporary, a new art fair in Mumbai set to open its inaugural edition next year, has been cancelled.

Organised by the New Delhi-based India Art Fair, the Mumbai expo was due to open 13-16 November 2025 with over 50 galleries represented in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. Concerns were raised about the fair’s coincidence with the existing Art Mumbai fair.

‘India Art Fair’s mission remains to prioritise the needs of galleries and artists from the region,’ the fair’s director Jaya Asokan said. ‘As part of this commitment, the fair scheduled to take place at Jio World Garden in November will no longer be held in the previously-planned format.’
