To mark the opening of M+, Hong Kong’s new museum of visual culture, ArtReview embarks on an extended multimedia partnership documenting the range and ambition of the institution that places it at the heart of Asian culture. Combining digital and print aspects, the partnership will introduce international audiences to M+’s collections and locate the museum’s presence across the continent and beyond.
Artworks and design objects from the museum’s collection will be chosen by ArtReview’s editorial team as part of the magazine’s online ‘Work of the Week’ series, for which writers will be commissioned to engage an in-depth focus on a single work of art and the networks of associations it conjures. The partnership will also include a series of one-minute videos distributed online and via ArtReview’s social media channels, featuring artists whose works are on view as part of the museum’s opening display. Alongside its digital engagement, the partnership will be complemented by two focus features in ArtReview’s flagship print publications ArtReview and ArtReview Asia that will provide a more in-depth guide to the new institution and the ways in which it will transform the production and display of visual culture across the region.
